Kristi Simon has been with the Chamber for 9 years and serves as the Vice President of Programs & Strategic Initiatives. In this role, Kristi manages all Chamber events and conferences, the Chamber’s event planning committees, annual event calendar and the event sponsorship program.
Kristi manages the Chamber’s Young Professionals Network (YPN), the GovConnects government contracting program and business recognition activities of the Chamber. Additionally, Kristi works with local organizations on partnership programs and assists in staff training & development.
Kristi is in her third year of Institute for Organizational Management through the US Chamber of Commerce at Villanova University and has been a three-year scholarship recipient. Kristi was named Howard County Young Professional of the Year in 2009 and was a 39 Under 39 honoree by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
In addition to her role at the Chamber, Kristi serves on numerous community boards and fundraising initiatives including the Friends of the Howard County Library Board of Directors, Junior Achievement of Central Maryland Advisory Board, the Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant Advisory Board, and The Dorsey Hall Homeowners Association Board of Directors. Kristi also assists local organizations in event planning activities, serving on committees for The Longest Table Community Dinner, the Howard County Library System’s Evening in the Stacks, the Howard County Arts Council’s Celebration of the Arts Committee and more.
Prior to joining the Chamber team, Kristi was a licensed insurance agent representing small businesses and individuals through Maryland. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland.
