2019 Women’s Leadership Conference

The 2019 Women’s Leadership Conference, HERStory: The Power of Perseverance, will feature powerful keynote speakers, panels and networking that will leave attendees feeling inspired and focused. The one-day conference will begin with Rayna DuBose, who survived a life-threatening battle with meningitis that put her into a 97-day coma. DuBose woke up a quadruple amputee, but has maintained a positive spirit and fought to create a great life for herself, living out many of her dreams as a basketball and football coach. The conference also includes three panels made up of some of the most highly regarded female leaders. Panelists including Howard County Police Chief Lisa Myers, Howard County Fire Chief Christine Uhlhorn,  Co-Founder of Shea Radiance, Funlayo Alabi and Millennial Engagement Expert, MaryBeth Hyland will talk about ‘Finding Peace During the Storm,’ ‘Determining when Patience is a Virtue and When it is Not’ and ‘Igniting and Sustaining Purpose and Passion.’ The day will close with Sheela Murthy, founder of Murthy Law Firm. Murthy has grown her firm to more than 100 professionals since its launch in 1994. Her work, concentrated in the area of U.S. Immigration Law, has won many awards and has led to requests for her to speak before the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the International Bar Association in London and the Center for International Legal Studies in Salzburg.
