November Health Corner

The purpose of the Health and Wellness Committee is to foster greater employer awareness of community resources, legislative policies, and workplace best practices with the goal of creating a healthy work environment.

    • November is National #DiabetesMonth! With the help of your health care team, you can create a diabetes self-care plan that may include these tips from the @National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) about how to manage your diabetes:
        • Manage your A1C, blood pressure & cholesterol levels.
        • Seek additional support for your specific needs.
        • Make physical activity part of your routine.
        • Follow a diabetes mean plan.
        • Stay on top of your vaccines.

    • The American Red Cross must collect enough blood every day to meet the needs of accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease. Through your generosity, the Red Cross collects, processes and distributes about 40% of the nation’s blood supply. The need for blood is constant. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood.

The committee is looking for a few good men and women to join the committee. Please contact Lori Kleppin at or 410-730-4111 x 114.
