As workforce requirements make remote work necessary or optional, and as cloud computing resources offer better economies of scale, organizations are increasing their focus on digital transformation. While this transformation offers many benefits, managing the cybersecurity aspects of this transformation, during transition, and thereafter, is paramount. All employees need to be trained on how to work securely while remote – connecting into the network, safeguarding corporate assets in a home environment, being situationally aware of surroundings when working in more public spaces, etc. Yet it doesn’t end there.
IT and Security personnel also need to be trained in how to manage the security of virtual and cloud environments versus on-premise environments. These personnel must consider and understand how to achieve operational resilience, effective cyber defense, and develop an appropriate cyber risk posture as the organization’s resources shift to various cloud-type environments. Who is responsible for what? What tools are most appropriate to use in the new environment? Which third parties are needed and what risks do they bring? These and other cybersecurity considerations will be discussed during the conference so that participants are equipped to make secure digital transformations within their organizations.
