The Howard County Chamber of Commerce is recognized statewide as the voice for the business community in Howard County. The Chamber’s leadership meets regularly with elected officials at the State and County levels to advocate for policies that encourage growth and development. We believe it is vital to proactively engage our elected officials and address the concerns of the business community.
Policy Agenda Shaped by Chamber MembersThe Chamber’s legislative agenda is driven by input from its members and discussed by the Legislative and Government Affairs Committee. This Committee is comprised of members from the business community that meet regularly with Chamber staff to analyze pending legislation and its effects on business. Committee members are essential to strengthening the Chamber’s relationships with state and local officials.

Connect with Elected OfficialsEvery year, the Chamber holds two major legislative events and welcomes our elected officials to engage in discussions with our membership on issues facing the business community. In the fall, the Chamber publishes its legislative agenda in an annual Issues Brief. Members and legislators are invited to its release to foster constructive dialogue on the important issues to businesses. At the end of session in the spring, legislators are invited back to discuss what was passed during the General Assembly session and how it will affect the business community.
