Sponsored by the Chamber’s annual gold partners, five member luncheons provide a venue for members to learn about important issues and gain insight from highly regarded speakers. Each year, this series begins with the Howard County Executive’s State of the County address. In May, the member luncheon is the Chamber’s annual meeting, which features the induction of a new Board Chair and recognition of outstanding volunteers as well as a guest speaker. The other three have local and state business leaders and government officials speaking on timely business issues.
Business After Business (BAB) Mixers
Sponsored by the Chamber’s annual silver partners, BAB mixers are the Chamber's networking cornerstone, drawing up to 125 guests to enjoy food, drinks and networking in a relaxed atmosphere. They are held six times per year at members’ locations, enabling each host business to showcase their goods and services.
Power Networking Breakfast
The chamber’s Power Networking Breakfast gives each attendee the opportunity to pitch their companies to a breakfast crowd that often exceeds 60 attendees. At the close of each presentation, the speaker receives business cards from all interested potential customers in attendance.
Two annual legislative events give guests the opportunity to hear directly from county and state elected officials about key legislative issues affecting the business climate. Attendees can ask questions about the most recent legislative session at the wrap-up breakfast in April and learn more about the Chamber’s positions on key topics at the Legislative Preview Breakfast in November.
The annual Cyber Conference provides businesses with the latest information about cyber security challenges and solutions from high-ranking industry and government officials. It is also a valuable networking opportunity where business leaders connect informally and through pre-arranged, targeted meet-up sessions with cyber-oriented contractors and agencies.
Howard County Chamber of Commerce Signature Event

In addition to enjoying a fabulous dinner, cocktails and socializing with friends, guests are entertained by a nationally recognized headline speaker. In the past, the Chamber has welcomed political pundits Paul Begala and Tucker Carlson, newsman Sam Donaldson and television writer Carol Leifer.
